My Motivation

I bought my first "real" camera in 2014 and moved to Haiti where I taught ballet, english and helped run MCM's social media account. I learned a lot about photography and connecting with people through the lens of my camera while living there.

The importance, and value of photography didn't really hit me until the sudden loss of my father in 2016. It completely devastated my siblings and me and if it wasn't for the deep love of Jesus, my now husband and photography, I would not be where I am today.

Photography is a precious gift, it's capturing relationships and taking you back to a moment that is now gone forever. Every time I see this picture I'm back in that kebab shop in Paris, I can almost smell them. Dad was so excited to share his love of kebabs - I wanted to go back with him one day; but, I'm thankful for that trip and this photo.

My father didn't get to walk me down the aisle, or dance with me in my white dress and that's hard, but I treasure every single photo with and of him, even if it's out of focus or he's in the background rocking a sibling to sleep. I only wish that I had more, & taken more time with him... but it's too late.

I now have this urgency and desire to help people capture moments with their loved ones before the moment flies away or it's too late. It may seem unimportant to capture a candid moment with a little girl looking admiringly up at her father, whose protective arm is wrapped around her shoulder. Or a mother loving stroking her growing baby girls hair as she snuggles on her lap. But, I GUARANTEE it will mean the world to you and your child in a few years.

Finding those fleeting moments, capturing those pure and beautiful relationships are my bread and butter! Trust me when I say that you won't find stiff awkward poses here. It's real, raw, candid, beautiful life. It's those chunky baby fingers clutching mommas, the way her nose wrinkles when he really makes her laugh, the teary father as he dances with his little girl on her wedding day, the grandparents playing with the grandkids, how she fits so snuggly when his arms are wrapped around her. Those are only some of the things that I strive to capture for you and your loved one to treasure forever and always.
